Sanquhar and Surrounding Area

There are many things to do right on your doorstep in Sanquhar. Surrounded by beautiful countryside there are plenty routes to explore on foot or by bicycle.

Sanquhar is home to the world's oldest post office and also has a museum and a ruined castle.

The Crawick Multiverse is a stunning artland park, designed by Charles Jencks, with spectacular views across the Nith valley.

Sanquhar station is only a short walk from Viewforth Cottage and is on the main Glasgow to Newcastle line. A city day trip, or visit to any of the towns along the line is easy and no need for a car.
